In the early Spring of 2020, James Chakey, was named Carolina National's Executive Director in it's efforts to develop a more upscale exposure and competition style. James' goal is to supply the organization's players with additional collegiate exposure, while representing North and South Carolina. James attended high school at The Haverford School in the Greater Philadelphia area, one of the nation's most historically successful lacrosse high schools. James went on to continue his lacrosse career playing at the Division I level for four years for Penn State University. While playing for Penn State, James earned the Glenn Thiel and Sportsmanship Awards for Penn State Lacrosse, B1G Ten Conference Sportsman of the Year, Penn State Athletics True Grit Award, and named a finalist for the YRL Unsung Hero Award honored by the One Love Foundation. James looks to continually motivate Carolina National's teams and players to represent the Carolina's with pride and honor, while competing with the absolute best.
Prior to our most recent changes, Carolina National Lacrosse was founded in 2017 by Scott Olive and Mark Goldsmith. After achieving much success at a national level through the National Lacrosse Classic it was a unanimous hope of the players, parents, and coaches to represent Carolina at other high level tournaments to compete with the best teams in the county.
Mark and Scott both grew up in Levittown, NY before moving to Carolina. Currently they coach and run separate lacrosse organizations in both North and South Carolina. It is their goal to unite both North and South Carolina by drawing the best players across both states. They believe in order to collect the best players they need to work conjointly with representatives from the other regions of Carolina to best represent the state, meaning our program looks to promote local organizations in all state regions. Carolina National looks to provide additional exposure and competition to the top players in the Carolina's. We do not intend to compete with local competition as we conduct thorough diligence in our best efforts in making sure our schedules do not align with other organizations.
We are constantly looking to build new relationships in many different ways. We look for support from our communities and in return we try our very best to provide a service to young student-athletes looking to achieve their highest goals.
Although we are not a non-profit organization, we are a program that believes in internal growth. With every donation, we look to invest in player development, fantastic coaching staffs, newest technology, and much more.
All of our donations will find a home in an area where our players will benefit.
